Proud Founder Of Study With Sophie

Hi, I'm sophie

My journey in education began in 2006 when I completed my Year 10 work experience at a local primary school – the very same school my dad attended as a child.

I remember looking around the classroom at the children’s eager faces and the brightly coloured, glitter-paper displays, and realising that teaching was where I wanted to be.

I was lucky to have inspiring role models who shaped my path into education.

Mrs Miller, who proudly displayed my poppy drawing on her bathroom
wall, showed me the power of kindness and encouragement.

Miss Schofield, who let me paint daffodils on her classroom windows, sparked my love for creativity.

And, Mr Geoff, who once confiscated my Nokia 3310 in Year 11 English, not only pushed me academically but also wrote my university reference.

along the way...

I attended Canterbury Christ Church University to complete BA Honours Degree in Business and Marketing, graduating with a first. I returned in 2015 to complete my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), graduating with a distinction, and gaining my Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Since then, I have had the privilege of teaching children across KS1 and KS2, leading classes of enthusiastic learners who looked forward to coming into my classroom every day.

Over this time, I have supported pupils at all different stages and with a wide range of needs. It was here that I quickly discovered the importance of connecting learning to children’s strengths and interests, and making education not only effective, but fun.

In my most recent role, I completed my National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in the Leadership of Behaviour and Culture. My experience also includes Head of Year, leading up to four classes (around 120 children), as well as supporting their class teachers. I have even taken on subject-specific roles, including Leader of Writing
throughout KS2.

in 2010...

Teaching has even taken me to classrooms in India, as well as online, where I remember running virtual bingo and cooking lessons during lockdown to keep children excited and enthusiastic about their learning.

After years in the classroom, and especially after becoming a mum, I saw the importance of recognising every child’s unique individuality and needs. That’s why, in May 2024, I launched Study with Sophie – offering personalised 1:1 tuition that puts the whole child at its heart.

Since launching, Study with Sophie has gone from strength to strength, and I am deeply grateful for its ever-growing community. Teaching is my passion and,
alongside running my business, I am committed to helping every child flourish.

At Study with Sophie, we make one simple promise: confidence in every subject, joy in every lesson, and belief in every child.
