At Study with Sophie, we believe the right tutor can make all the difference. Our team brings together over 25 years of combined teaching and tutoring experience,
supporting children across primary and secondary education. Each tutor shares the same philosophy: that every child deserves personalised support and the chance to
discover joy in their learning.
We’re not just subject specialists — we’re approachable, creative, and passionate about helping children grow in confidence and self-belief. Whether it’s building foundations in primary, preparing for SATs or the 11+, or strengthening skills at secondary, our team knows how to adapt to each child’s unique needs and learning style.
When you choose Study with Sophie, you’re choosing a team that cares deeply about education - and even more about the children we teach.

Kirsty has always known she wanted to be a teacher — ever since her own inspiring Year 4 teacher showed her how fun and exciting learning could be. After completing a degree in Fashion and Textiles and gaining experience at Marks & Spencer’s head office, Kirsty followed her heart into teaching, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Loughborough University.
She has since taught across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, supporting children of all ages, with a particular focus on helping primary pupils transition into secondary school. Kirsty specialises in Design & Technology and Art, and she loves making learning creative, practical, and cross-curricular.
Outside the classroom, she runs a small textiles business, Handmade by Kirsty, where she transforms outgrown or sentimental clothing into beautiful keepsakes for families.
At Study with Sophie, Kirsty brings over 16 years of teaching experience, combining subject expertise, creativity, and warmth to help every child build confidence, enjoy learning, and develop lasting self-belief.

Eila is a qualified primary school teacher with QTS who has always had a passion for working with children and helping them grow in confidence.
For Eila, teaching isn’t just about lessons and outcomes… it’s about the smiles, the “I did it!” moments, and creating a safe, supportive environment where children feel excited to learn and proud of themselves.
She has experience teaching across the primary age ranges from Reception to Year 5, as well as supporting within Year 6 classrooms. Through this, she has taught all primary subjects, supported assessments, tracked pupil progress and helped children grow in both confidence and ability.
Eila also has experience with phonics and understands just how important strong foundations, encouragement and positive relationships are in helping children thrive.
Alongside her teaching experience, Eila has also worked in a crèche, supporting younger children through play, care and connection. This has helped shape her calm, nurturing and child-centred approach.
Eila has been dancing since she was 2 years old (so nearly 19 years!) and is currently President of her dance society, where she choreographs and teaches weekly sessions — something she absolutely loves.
One of Eila’s favourite experiences was spending 3 months in America, where she taught dance at a summer camp and lived alongside the children for 6 weeks. Afterwards, she travelled to New York City, Nashville, Miami and Orlando — including Disney World, which was a huge highlight! The experience helped her grow in confidence, independence and appreciation for different cultures.
Outside of teaching, Eila loves going out for coffee, spending time with friends, staying active and creating positive, happy environments where children feel comfortable being themselves.
“Imagine your child excited to learn. Imagine discovering what lights them up. Imagine them growing into a confident, curious and happy learner - that's at the heart of what we do at Study with Sophie”
